US Election – is the poll picture the whole picture?

This Spotlight examines recent (as of October 28) polls in six battleground states. There will have been additional polls released between the writing and publication of this note, but they should follow the trends shown in those covered below. We hope regardless that the examination of each poll’s methodology, questions used and other ‘internals’ will be helpful for understanding the conclusions they present, but also show why they do not have ‘all the answers’ for predicting the eventual outcome. Our summary below puts them in a context of other data points and voter attitudes, with a view to providing a more considered call of the Electoral College result.
